Classic Slope-shoulder Dreadnought from Guild
The Guild DS-240 Memoir is a beautifully designed, incredibly playable, slope-shoulder acoustic guitar at a great price. The DS-240 Memoir features a solid spruce top and gorgeous mahogany back and sides — a wonderful tonewood combination that produces stellar high and midrange tone with rich bass response. A gloss finish on the mahogany back and sides lets its natural coloring really pop. In addition, a comfortable C-shaped mahogany neck with pau ferro fingerboard is incredibly responsive and playable. Scalloped X-bracing further enhances the tone and durability of the DS-240, giving you years of playing and improved tone over time.

Guild acoustics: a heritage built on great woods and features
Guild has earned a solid reputation over the decades as one of America's premier early guitar makers. The company's commitment to quality material and design is forefront with the solid spruce and mahogany on the DS-240 Memoir — a tonewood pairing renowned for its rich, varied voicing and resonance. The slope-shoulder dreadnought body provides big sound and a comfortable playing experience. A NuBone nut and saddle also support great sustain and clarity. And a 1960s red tortoiseshell pickguard lends an even more classic look and vibe. Added visual delight comes by way of a mother-of-pearl rosette and Guild Peak headstock logo — features guitarists here at Sweetwater love.

Great working guitar for songwriter/performers.
The qualities of the DS-240. Nice clear tone with great balance. (Lows can be boosted in the EQ) Nice sustain. Dry resonance, good woody overtones without the metal overtones Taylors can sometimes have when using Phosphorus strings. I changed strings to Elixir 80/20's NanoWeb and all these qualities came out all the more. Guitar rings out loud without the lows sounding like the bottom of a trash can. Gentle picking brings out the more emotional detail the guitar imparts. I look forward to working with this guitar, it makes me sound better than I am. : )
