There are so many on the market that it can be hard to narrow them down, but we're big fans of focusing on what works best for you personally. Consider what you're looking for in terms of style, support, and function, and go for the suit that fits your needs.

Of course, those needs vary from person to person. Below, I've shopped out 28 pieces with an eye towards presenting a range of what the market has to offer. You'll find bikini tops that vary in support based on strap, underwire, and cups, as well as swim bottoms in a variety of levels of coverage. And of course, if you want a one-piece, there are options in every cut and color of the rainbow. Read on for my favorites.

Bikini Tops

Bikini tops are often a starting point when shopping for a two-piece bathing suit. The most classic style is a triangle top with straps, which shows just enough skin and goes nicely under sheer cover-ups. If you're leaning towards something with more bust support, go for a triangle with lining, or an underwire balcony style. For more coverage overall, try a sporty or tank-style crop top—which comes with the added benefit of being extra comfortable, and looking great on the way to the beach paired with jean shorts or linen pants.

Bikini Bottoms

Bikini bottoms, the foundation of your two-piece, are where you can mix and match depending on your goals. If you've got an active day at the beach planned, go with a biker-short style.
